I have to agree here, as far as I know hasn’t invented much of anything, but to be fair, doesn’t so much invent totally new products as they usually improve and iterate upon existing technologies. Apple does indeed keep their “walled garden” fairly well locked down, but in my opinion that’s why the garden is worth spending time in. I don’t have time to maintain a garden myself and Apple’s garden aligns with my sensibilities, it works for me that they (mostly) keep out the weeds.
