I really miss 3D Touch on iOS and Apple Watch devices. I feel like Apple dropped it because it was used so little, but if they would’ve made it more discoverable to begin with it could’ve been the basis for so many interactions that ended up convoluted now.

I finally got working with and my this particular account. It’s strange, I think I’ve narrowed the crash down to an issue with the way ActivityPub relays work in snac2. If there is a single boosted post in my timeline when Ivory pulls the data, it crashes instantly.

I’m attempting to troubleshoot #Ivory when used with #snac2 where the app crashes when attempting to load in certain bits of data (seems like some hashtags perhaps, or the data the hashtags lead to). Ivory logs a crash mentioning something about “serverFilters” or “imageIndex”. Like when I try to view the StarTrek tag something it tries to pull in crashes the app hard.

Now I’m just trying to find a specific post that will do it so maybe I can actually figure out what exactly is going wrong.

@macmanx@social.lol @chockenberry I’ve started working on a connector for Tapestry that will login to my FreshRSS instance, pull the latest articles and then mark them as read on the server. So basically any time Tapestry pulls articles from FreshRSS the articles it gets will then be marked as read in any other RSS reader I use (like Fiery Feeds, Reeder, etc…), that way I don’t see duplicates.

Now I just have to continue unearthing my JavaScript abilities. They’ve been buried a very long time.

@BeAware@social.beaware.live @reiver Bridgy Fed was originally supposed to be opt-out, but so many people on ActivityPub based networks went bonkers with the notion that it somehow infringed on their privacy. I mean, I understand some of the argument relating to the possible increase of malicious actors, but that will happen regardless of any bridges if there is ever any significant active user growth. I was super excited about the bridge until that happened. It really killed any meaningful potential it may have had.

I just can’t grasp the notion of maintaining privacy on a completely open network protocol.

@paul@oldfriends.live @jrollans Wow, yeah, I had no idea! It seems like a pretty obvious necessity to have a way to stop federation and send out the message that the account is no longer active or an AP entity. Honestly to me it feels just as important as having a way to start federating in the first place.
