Darunter fallen z. B. Laptops, Tablets, Smartphones, Notebooks und deren Zubehör wie Monitor, Drucker, Scanner, Beamer, Sim-Karte, Ladegeräte, Laptoptasche und Software. Die Geräte müssen aber ebenso in dem Betrieb des Arbeitgebers genutzt werden. Solange die Geräte im Eigentum des Arbeitgebers stehen, ist die Installation, Inbetriebnahme und Reparatur durch einen IT-Service steuer- und sozialabgabenfrei. Im Lohnkonto sind keine Aufzeichnungen bezüglich der Überlassung aufzunehmen. Und auch umsatzsteuerlich entsteht keine Steuer, solange die Geräte im Eigentum des Arbeitgebers bleiben. Um sicher zu gehen, dass das Finanzamt keine Übereignung der Geräte an die Arbeitnehmer unterstellt, sollte die leihweise Überlassung im Arbeitsvertrag geregelt werden.
