Got some use out of the AirTag in the Prius yesterday. Brought it to Costco for new tires and monitored its movement remotely, or rather lack of movement as they didn’t get to it for an hour and a half. But once it started, I knew when they started and where they left the car before they pointed down the row of that crowded af Costco parking lot.

So there's a new, AI-slop generated, Lisa emulator out there written in Rust. It works amazingly well at first sight and can even run MacWorks XL 3.0 with some manual modifications required for the square pixels of the Mac XL. Installation to the emulated ProFile HD fails, though.

So I switched my 2012 macbook air, still very functional but no longer supported by #Apple, to #Linux ElementaryOS 8.1, but there's an issue with battery management- green light on charge cable, but OS showing 6% on battery & not charging. Runs ok on charger, but batt gets really hot. Can’t find an explanation/fix on forums that are in layman terms. Also issues with installing apps through flatpak. 🤷♂️

For some reason, the Mail app on my Mac isn't showing all of my email. I've checked every setting I can think of, made sure everything looks correct, restarted the computer, and I'm still missing messages that show up just fine on my iPhone.
One thing I noticed is that VoiceOver keeps announcing "Primary." Does the Mail app on macOS have some kind of inbox categorization that could be hiding messages? Has anyone else run into this or found a fix?

A much faster Mac on a Microcontroller.
Emulating older computers on microcontrollers has been a staple of retrocomputing for many years now, with most 8-bit and some 16-bit machines available on Atmel, ARM or ESP32 platforms. But there’s always been a horsepower limit, a point beyond which a microcontroller is no longer enough, and a “proper” computer is needed.
⁉️One of those barriers now appears to have been broken, as microcontroller-based emulation moves into the 32-bit era. [Amcchord] has the Basilisk II emulator ported to the ESP32-P4 platform, providing a 68040 Mac able to run OS8.1. This early-1990s-spec machine might not seem like much in 2026, but it represents a major step forward.⁉️

👾I like this project, both because it’s advancing the art of emulation on microcontrollers, and also because it delivers a computer that’s useful for some of the things you might have done with a Mac in 1992 and could even do today. Pulling this out on the train back then would have blown people’s minds. There’s even a chance that MacOS on something like this would turn a few heads in 2026.👾
The ESP32 here has a dual-core RISC-V architecture running at 400 MHz, and the emulator uses one core for video and I/O, with the other for the 68040 interpreter, and other low-level system function patching. For storage, users of this IoT tab can make use of HDD and CD images that are saved on an SD card. In addition to the OS and apps you have, this is where you will put your Mac boot ROM files.
⁉️Overall, it is a very neat and portable all-in-one emulation solution. It would also be a great starting platform for modding, as you could make a mini Mac Classic with this and a 3D printer without jumping through too many hoops.⁉️
