Would you run an app that sits on your phone that acts as both host and client to your OWN personal single-user Mastodon instance?

Because I just had a stroke of inspiration - that must be the next logical step in the decentralization of the internet.

I'm running my own personal Mastoson instance from a crappy old #PC that I had laying around right now, and it's working great, only took me a couple days work to setup.

With just some pre-configuring of the software, I don't see why we can't just host them from our phones, whose hardware is already better than my crappy old #Linux box.

Imagine, your own URL or unique address where you host your own content that all of your friends and family can find and comment on.

Kind of like a group MMS, or email chain, but better.

I think THAT would be the true Facebook killer, what do you think?

If the software can be all "closed up", and re-coded to allow you to enter your own domain name (that you paid for previosuly), a desired username, password... that'd really be all that should be needed from the end user to setup the software.

I kinda want to see if I can make this happen. I'm surprised somebody smarter than me didn't already think of it.

In the evenings I charge my iPhone and it lays right next to my MacBook which I then use.

When I have something in my calendar during that time, it sometimes only shows a notification on ONE of the devices even though it should show on both.

Is it a bug and just random, or is there something in the apple systems that tries to be smart and see that the devices are near each other and just show on the device it thinks is active?
