jrollans.com is a Fediverse instance that uses the ActivityPub protocol. In other words, users at this host can communicate with people that use software like Mastodon, Pleroma, Friendica, etc. all around the world.
This server runs the snac software and there is no automatic sign-up process.
@dansup
But how can I add myself to it, I have the #fedi22 in the bio of another account, but where is the "add me" button?
@d1re_w0lf
@d1re_w0lf So the People Directory requires you to add the #fedi22 hashtag to your bio before you can add yourself, and periodically checks it still exists, otherwise you get removed.
I still need to add the "Add my account" to the new fediverse.info, but I want to do it without requiring that #fedi22 hashtag as bio's are limited in max chars.
The People Directory is now way easier to browse!
I have big plans for this, and I'll make it easier to add/remove yourself without having #fedi22 in your bio.

@kevinveenbirkenbach Nope, I started a campaign where people needed to add #fedi22 to their profile bio and then self-submit to the directory.
I still haven't finished redesigning that yet, but it will soon allow self-submission and removal.
(Yeah, fediverse.info people directory is to blame for that pesky #fedi22 hashtag you see everywhere)
