I love when an alien emblem appears on #StarTrek, like the one created for the Ventaxians in #StarTrekTNG's "Devil's Due". But it is especially cool when different departments incorporate the emblem. Here it is seen on colourful windows, as a floor mosaic and on tapestries. :-)
I love this big console that appeared numerous times on #StarTrek and other Sci-Fi shows! I'm wondering about its current whereabouts!
"Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan"↖️, #StarTrekTNG's "Datalore"↗️, "A Matter of Perspective"⬅️➡️, "Devil's Due"↙️ ↘️.
Today will be my final #StarTrek tea cup research post (for now). In a strange coincidence, we're watching "Star Trek VI" today for my "Redemption I+II" research (VI was filmed in between the two episodes). My best friends' autistic son loves the "Teetasse kaputt" scene so much!😊
My bottle of Aldebaran Whiskey (Spirit) arrived just in time for my 30th #StarTrek anniversary on Sunday! :-) I love how they tried to make the bottle as close as possible to the original one from #StarTrekTNG's "Relics", including the number 5344! :-)
https://www.v-sinne-gin.de/products/v-sinne-star-trek-aldebaran-spirit-700ml-38-vol-1
Talking to my son about Sci-Fi UX design, and I'd say the major shift from plausible designs like Mike Okuda made, to what we have now with holos and the like is that the function to the show is totally different.
Where they'd be business for actors to look like they were doing the thing, they are now 3-5 second mini movies explaining story points. So you get designs made for the streaming viewer, not for the character operating things.
#StarTrek research never ends: I found four more appearances of Janeway and the black Bodum cup on #StarTrekVOY. She's drinking from it when she gives Harry Kim the "Those Old Scientist" speech in "Flashback"! Six appearances - second place after Picard! 😁
https://www.masterreplicas.com/products/the-picard-tea-cup-set
Sometimes tea cups that look like Bodum cups but aren't do appear on #StarTrek: This cup, which is seen in #StarTrekVOY's "The Chute", is a Viva Italia Inspiration Cappuccino/Espresso cup.
So far, we've seen Bodum tea cups with three different kinds of handles on #StarTrek: Rectangular Bodum Bistro handles ↖️↗️, semi-circular Bodum Bistro Nouveau handles ⬅️➡️ and those oval white handles on #StarTrekTNG ↙️↘️. I cannot find any link between these cups and Bodum. 1/2
The music instruments that T'Lyn plays in the #StarTrekLowerDecks season 5 trailer ↖️↗️ originally appeared in the Café des Artistes in #StarTrekTNG's "We'll Always Have Paris"↙️↘️. There are many obscure music instruments on #StarTrek but, kudos LD, this one wins the prize! :-)
Two sizes of Alessi MG cups are seen in some episodes of #StarTrek. The smaller espresso cups are only seen in #StarTrekTNG's "Timescape"⬅️ and the larger mugs are regularly seen on #StarTrekDS9 for Tarkalean tea ("Things Past"↗️) and #StarTrekVOY ("The Voyager Conspiracy"➡️).
#StarTrek is on my brain today, so let's choose some #Halloween #horror films that include unexpected Trek alumni. When I first saw Lifeforce, I was young and living at home. My mom walked in and saw a naked woman casually strolling onscreen.
"DENNIS! Our son is watching a naked woman!”
It must've gotten their hopes up so high. But sometimes a horror film is just a horror film.
There's a lot of talent on these credits. Tobe Hooper (Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Poltergeist) directs…

In my analysis of #StarTrek teasets, once I start rambling about "Royal Doulton with hand painted periwinkles", please do stop me! ;-)
Wow, Bernd has created completely new size charts for the starships and shuttles seen in the animated #StarTrek series #StarTrekTAS, #StarTrekLowerDecks and #StarTrekProdigy. Check them out! 👌👌
https://www.ex-astris-scientia.org/schematics/size-annotations.htm#animated
Oh hay, did I mention Liz Kloczkowski is working on a book about building the Enterprise-D bridge?
You should ask Paramount to get on publishing it :)
Many different alien gavels have appeared on #StarTrek over the course of several decades:
A K'Tuveon gavel in "Veritas"↖️, Klingon ones in "Star Trek VI"↗️ and "Judgement"⬅️, a Ventaxian one in "Devil's Due"➡️, A Bajoran one in "Dax"↙️ and a Cardassian one in "Tribunal"↘️.
The same radar prop was seen in at least three episodes of #StarTrek. It appears on Velara III in #StarTrekTNG's "Home Soil"⬆️, was adorned with Starfleet deltas for "Devil's Due"➡️ and appears many years later on an alien planet in #StarTrekVOY's "Friendship One"⬇️.
Only one more month until I will be celebrating my 30th anniversary as a Trekkie on October 20th. If I could tell that 14-year-old boy what role #StarTrek would play in his life from that day onwards! Taking notes while watching Star Trek - best decision ever! :-)
I have worked on like over 8 seasons of Star Trek just in the past 3 years.
IMDB: "Brian Tatosky is known for Chronicle (2012), R.I.P.D. (2013) and Serenity (2005)."
Watching #DoctorWho season 1 episodes on Blu-ray on Sundays with my friends - and of course there's a #StarTrek reference in the episode ("The Empty Child") we're watching tonight... ha!
Happy #StarTrekDay! :-)
Still plenty of attic shelf space left for new #StarTrek starship models by @FanhomeUS coming this fall! :-) The attic remodeling was partly motivated by needing new space for more #Eaglemoss starship models, after all! Happy #StarTrekDay! :-)
I got one this year!! :-)

The texturing part is the most interesting bit, since there is 1) The paint/decaling, 2) The lighting, 3) The optical compositing printing, and 4) The color timing of the film.
And then after figuring out all of this to recreate something it's balanced by: How we *remember* the starships looking.
The very prominent Sanctuary Processing Center entrance, seen several times in #StarTrekDS9's "Past Tense I+II"↖️↗️ was also seen in other #StarTrek episodes, namely in "Emergence"⬅️➡️, #StarTrekVOY's "11:59"↙️ and #StarTrekENT's "Storm Front I"↘️.
Spent the day doing #StarTrek research, particularly on #StarTrekDS9's "Past Tense" and Livingston, playing #StarWarsOutlaws for the first time, watching a 3-hour #RingsOfPower season 1 recap and then watching the first episode of season 2. It was a wonderful day! 👌👌
To sum up: there are three very similar models, all built by Greg Jein. One is the actual model of Jaheel's, appearing in #StarTrekDS9's "Babel". The other two models look very similar but were never actually seen on #StarTrek. More

Happy Bell Riots Day?
Where in the 90s we might have believed that a mass death event might shock the country into doing the right thing. How cute.
Not even sure the writers could have imagined our response to the pandemic, even though it feels like a TOS planet the Enterprise would travel to in order to make a social and moral point about it's failings.
There is no Gabriel Bell. There is no Benjamin Sisko. There is only *us*, and what we do now to make things better.
It's Friday, August 30th 2024 - which means there's a certain two-parter we're going to watch tonight on #StarTrek night for sure!
Man, I wish I could have gotten the Voyager-A into 3rd season of Picard :)
(Mostly because I want to stare a the model and fly around it.)
Watching #DoctorWho's "Pyramids of Mars" and boy does Sutekh's voice remind me of Jeffrey Combs...in any of his #StarTrek roles...😅
#ProdigySpoilers
"Evasive pattern omega", mentioned by Holo-Janeway in #StarTrekProdigy's "Ouroboros I"↖️↗️, is a cool callback to #StarTrekVOY's "Caretaker"↙️↘️ where it was Chakotay who used an evasive pattern omega for the very first time on #StarTrek. It became a VOY classic.
My favourite Alyssa Ogawa moment in #StarTrekTNG's "Realm of Fear" is her long shocked look when the dead Yosemite crewmember suddenly starts breathing again during the autopsy conducted by her and Dr. Crusher. #RIP Patti Yasutake, you will be dearly missed by the #StarTrek fans!
#ProdigySpoilers
This medical tool in #StarTrekProdigy's "Touch of Grey"↖️↗️ has driven me a little nuts. I know I've seen in the prop before in live-action #StarTrek but the closest I could find is this prop seen as a medical tool on #StarTrekDS9 ⬅️➡️⬇️.
https://www.spacecadets4harris.com/
The lovely people I'm totally not surprised from #StarTrek are here.
Jeri Ryan, Michelle Hurd...and many more
You know what's cool: Seeing a Star Trek person doing something in a a completely different context and going, "That's awesome" and knowing that *they* are awesome too.
This applies to *multiple* people.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D24tYFIVyv0
The Okudas are great people; so humble and sweet. It's awesome that Adam interviewed them, and I wish I could buy *all* the stuff they are auctioning off, because there's some real Star Trek history in there.
Rest in Peace, Lora Johnson! These excellent books were among the first ones I ever bought once I became a Trekkie in 1994. I still look at them regularly, they have everything I love! Thank you for everything you have done for the #StarTrek community! 🖖
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lora_Johnson
My favourite Alyssa Ogawa moment in #StarTrekTNG's "The Host" is how she first assist Dr. Crusher like a medical pro but when she then sees Odan's tummy rise up and down reacts the way we all would. #RIP Patti Yasutake! You will be missed by the #StarTrek community!
https://www.indiewire.com/news/general-news/justin-simien-star-wars-lando-scrapped-1235032300/
Just putting out Donald Glover in the Trek universe then! But damn, he would have been good as Lando, especially if he were involved in the writing.
(Edit: I guess he is still involved in a Lando movie)
...but then was never used again on #StarTrek. But when you compare what Jaheel's ship looks like now ⬆️ with Neelix ship, the Baxial (first seen in 1996's "The Chute"⬇️), you can see many many similarities. Maybe the model served as the inspiration for the Baxial CG model? 6/9
I have always been most fascinated by the alien-of-the-week ships on #StarTrek and Jaheel's ship from #StarTrekDS9's "Babel" is certainly one of them. It appears only in this one '93 episode and was never re-used, yet its story is fascinating! Now the model is up for auction! 1/9
It is wrong that ages ago I raved to Alex Kurtzman about Tawny Newsome's talent and how I knew her *first* from Bajillion Dollar Properties and improv?
If it is, I don't want to be right!
(Also, had no idea about a potential show from her until reading this like y'all.)
#ProdigySpoilers
Here are a few more shots of the Klingon Bird-of-Prey model used on #StarTrek Prodigy (here in "A Tribble Called Quest"). I really hope we'll eventually get a miniature model of this variety of the BoP as well! :-)
#ProdigySpoilers
#StarTrekProdigy's "Last Flight of the Protostar II" features the first actual dialogue reference to Archimedes in all of #Startrek. We do have 2 previously mentioned starships named USS Archimedes and USS Eureka each, though! :-)
#ProdigySpoilers
A jib (sai)l has been mentioned and seen on #StarTrek twice now, in #StarTrekProdigy's "Last Flight of the Protostar II"↖️↗️ and in #StarTrekDS9's "Explorers"↙️↘️. In both cases, the jib is quickly lost over the course of the respective episodes.
#ProdigySpoilers
I believe #StarTrekProdigy's "Last Flight of the Protostar I+II"↖️↗️ is the first time we actually SEE antimatter on #StarTrek. The containers are inspired by the antimatter containers seen in #StarTrekTNG's "We'll Always Have Paris"↙️↘️.
Today is one of those days when I realize again that many of the things I do and ways I am today is because of #StarTrek. I teach English and Biology because of Star Trek. I am the person I am because of Star Trek. Only being a teacher, that came way before Star Trek. It's ridiculous and it's awesome! :-)
One of the first English #StarTrek books I ever got in the mid-90s age 16) was this one. I tried to translate every joke into German, so my mum would understand them too. (I'm not kidding, I'm like that). I'm an English teacher now. I still don't get the last one. Please help!!🖖
#ProdigySpoilers
The last three episodes of #StarTrekProdigy have really given us some beautiful classic #StarTrek planetary approach shots! 😍
"The Fast and the Curious"⬆️
"Is There in Beauty no Truth?"➡️
"The Devourer of All Things I"⬇️
#ProdigySpoilers
After decades of hearing about the game on various #StarTrek shows, we finally see a Parrises squares court in #StarTrekProdigy's "Is There in Beauty no Truth?" :-)
It does have the ramps mentioned in #StarTrekTNG's "Future Imperfect". :-)
Some impressions from yesterday's #StarTrek lecture at the University Göttingen. :-)
I had lots of fun giving my #StarTrek lecture! How couldn't you in such a location? 🤩 Big thanks to everyone who came and listened to my stories, it was wonderful sharing them! 🖖
My Tribble travels with me wherever I go. This time - off to Göttingen, #StarTrek duty calls! :-)
Today and tomorrow (when I give my #StarTrek lecture in Göttingen) and the day after tomorrow (when I'm having a party with friends here), I'm going to write about #StarTrekProdigy's "Observer's Paradox". I might be a little busy with other things on Thu and Fri, though. ;-)
#ProdigySpoilers
The small plaque in Janeway's ready room on the Voyager-A in #StarTrekProdigy's "Observer's Paradox"⬆️⬅️ shows the seal of Bloomington, Indiana ➡️, her hometown ("Imperfection"⬇️).
The city's seal was designed by #StarTrek (fan) alumni Masao Okazaki in 2020.🖖
https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Masao_Okazaki
#ProdigySpoilers
There are many previous time travel related #StarTrek episodes that could have been mentioned in #StarTrekProdigy's "Temporal Mechanics 101"⬅️ but #StarTrekTNG's "Parallels"➡️ certainly wasn't on my list - and it works wonderfully! :-)
#ProdigySpoilers
It seems the Eaglemoss CG models of various #StarTrek ships (including the Maquis raider) were used to kitbash the Infinity. Here you can clearly see parts of the Imposter Delta Flyer from #StarTrekVOY's "Live Fast and Prosper"⬇️. 2/4
#ProdigySpoilers
So the Infinity is indeed continuing the age-old tradition of a kitbash ship on #StarTrek, as seen in #StarTrekProdigy's season 2. :-)
You can definitely see parts of the Maquis Raider from #StarTrekTNG, #StarTrekDS9 and #StarTrekVOY in there. 1/4
I finally finished my PowerPoint presentation for the #StarTrek lecture I'm giving at the University of Göttingen this Thursday. This is going to be fun, I hope! 😅
#ProdigySpoilers
Chronitons and tachyons, as detected by Maj'el in #StarTrekProdigy's "Who Saves the Saviors"⬆️⬅️➡️, have long been associated with time travel on #StarTrek. In that context, chronitons were first mentioned in "Past Tense I"↙️ and tachyons in "All Good Things"↘️.
So, in case this hasn't become obvious with all the recent posts about deck numbers, starship beauty shots and Starfleet Command logos:
I absolutely love #StarTrekProdigy season 2! I love the story, the interactions between the characters, I love how it's #StarTrek at its core, I love researching and writing about it and I'm joining the chorus demanding more seasons of this show! Absolutely!! It's quintessential #StarTrek and we need it more than ever. I do need it!! Watch it!!!
#ProdigySpoilers
A funny classic #StarTrek blooper happens in #StarTrekProdigy's "Into the Breach I+II": In episode 1, it is established that Lamarr-class USS Voyager-A has 29 decks. But in episode 2, a Voyager crewmember takes the turbolift down to deck 32. :-)
#ProdigySpoilers
Two of the Starfleet books in Dal's quarters in #StarTrekProdigy's "Into the Breach I" seem to cover medical aspects, as they both have the (red) cross on their respective covers. This only rarely happens on #StarTrek, as the SF Medical caduceus is usually used.
#ProdigySpoilers
The USS Voyager-A flies past the snow-covered Martian north pole in #StarTrekProdigy's "Into the Breach I"⬆️, The northern Martian polar ice cap has been seen before in earlier #StarTrek episodes, like "One Small Step"↙️ and "Terra Prime"↘️.
While two-parters in season 1 of #StarTrekProdigy featured Arabic numerals (part 1+ part 2) ⬆️, the two-parters in season 2 of the show now have Roman numerals (part I + part II) ⬇️, just like classic (1966-2005) #StarTrek. :-)
#StarTrekProdigy season 2 on #Netflix finally also features the #StarTrek universe bumper clip ↙️ at the beginning of each episode here in Germany! :-)
New #StarTrek episodes dropping in my summer break is always awesome but getting 20 new episodes, 8 hours of research-worthy material on one day is dauntingly wonderful!
*I* get to decide how long I take for one episode, just like when I do #StarTrekTNG. :-)
#StarTrekProdigy season 2 - here I come! :-)
At the beginning, I was really averse to the idea of one season of #StarTrek dropping on the same day. I still am but now I'm looking forward to immersing myself in 8 hours of new content of #StarTrekProdigy tomorrow. It's a completely new (but hopefully singular) experience! :-)
I started working on my #StarTrek lecture PowerPoint presentation today, covered everything until late 2020 when I started work as a research assistant on #StarTrekPicard. Crazy how many years I've already been a Trekkie and grateful for all the joy it has brought me over the years!
The wedding scene in #StarTrekTNG's "Data's Day" features something else rarely seen on #StarTrek: It seems Data's dance with Keiko was recorded using two difgerent cameras located very close to each other. The scene cuts from one angle/shot to another but it's the same take.🤯
This shot in #StarTrekTNG's "Data's Day" is one of the super rare occurrences of a wiping transition on #StarTrek. The woman in the foreground hides the cut from one shot ↖️ to another ↘️ by her movement. So very #StarWars! ;-)
