Strange New Worlds scene. We're in the Enterprise corridor. It's white and brightly lit. Nurse Chapel, who also has strikingly white hair, is talking to Spock, both are in uniform. Spock's ears look slightly different than usual, less pointy.
Closed caption on Chapel, "Um, how's, uh, feeling going?"

I'm really looking forward to analyzing new episodes again, once season 3 of starts airing on July 17th! I mean, it's fun going through the Enterprise-D ready room for the 4th time in less than a year, still finding new stuff. But the mix of new and old is what I love most! :-)

July 17th. Strange New Worlds Season 3. I can almost remember back to working on it; it's been so long.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 3 Key Art poster with the text at the top "Paramount+ original" and at the bottom "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, New Season Streaming July 17"

The image is of a fantastical colorful world with lush alien plants with blue tones on the left transitioning to red tones on the right, with the cast walking towards camera. From left to right, Dr. M'Benga, Spock, Nurse Chapel, Una, Uhura, La'an, and Ortegas, with Pike center and forward of them all.

The Enterprise and some alien planets are in the far background. It's cool.

Star Trek Deep Space Nine scene. The Sisko sits in quarters on a couch behind a coffee table. There's some very blue and purple pillows on the couch, in an otherwise very dimly lit room. He's holding his hands up as if he's animatedly speaking. Closed caption reads, "Computer, what day is it?"

My boss, Jason Zimmerman, was hired October 2016, as the second hire when Alex Kurtzman took over from Bryan Fuller, and has supervised every Trek show since. No department has been consistently working on this generation of Star Trek and knows more about what works and what doesn't. We've been here longer than all the EPs except Alex himself.

Just something that crosses my mind on occasion.

Star Trek The Original Series scene. Spock, Bones, and Kirk stand looking around in an off-ship room. There's a thing on the wall that kind of looks like one of those school water bubblers that shoots a little arc of water. Spock is reading his tricorder. Closed caption reads , "NOW OUR INSTRUMENTS SHOW THAT NO INTELLIGENT LIFE REMAINS ON THE PLANET"

The shot of Scotty recording a Captain's log in a voice-over at the beginning of 's "Wink of an Eye"⬆️ was taken from the beginning of "The Empath"⬇️. You can even still hear some of his dialogue from the former episode in the background during the new and louder voice-over...😅

Finished and now we’re halfway through . It’s been a fantastic, uh, trek… I’ve noticed so, so many references, Easter eggs, and just general continuity within the newer shows that I just did not catch when watching as it aired. I enjoyed Picard just fine initially, but I’m enjoying it so much more now!

I am super excited about it because of the way the cast and crew have been talking about it. They all seem to really love what they put together this season! Only 7 more minutes remain…

I’ve been watching for the first time in decades and I honestly think the first couple of seasons aren’t that bad. With the exception of a couple of episodes, of course. I was anticipating a slog through the first third of the series, but I’m happy to be wrong!
