Got myself a new tractor unit. I said I'd get my girls a MAN TGX Euro 6 XLX and I did. I feel a bit bad for Samantha now, since she's supposed to be my baby. But this is my tractor for my healing journey. My little Bunny is going to drive around seeing the sights and finding her own meaning in life. She's going to find her own happiness with the only MAN she needs, her TGX Euro 6. The colour scheme is a bit garish, but I had to match their signature colours.

My MAN TGX Euro 6 XLX at a petrol station. Or diesel actually. I've done quite a bit of customisation, adding a bumper grille, side lights, air horns and warning beacons.

I wish there were more cabin accessories. I played too much #ETS2 yesterday and got a headache. I installed the last EP I bought, Road to the Black Sea, I think it was, the one that goes to Turkey. But then when I loaded the game, the roads weren't connected to the rest of my map!

Luckily, Going East was on half price, so I got it and finally used up that 17p that's been sitting on my account since last year 😅

I'm very much a goal orientated gamer. I get bored of open play easily. So I'm trying to unlock all the cities and as many of the roads as I can.

Back when I used to play #Sims2, I just played it the same every time. Keep their needs met, get them good grades, get them promoted.

Other people would actually have their #Sims act out stories, like there was one player who had a grumpy old dude who would kidnap kids off the street and then lock them in the basement and force them to paint so he could sell the paintings. And I used to wonder, why can't I come up with stories, why do I play every family as goal orientated instead of letting them have a story? 😅 Is this an #autism thing?

I have done all I could on my Corvette and I ended the expedition in No Man's Sky.

Since then, I've been "running" around a planet with locations of scrap containers. I'm trying to gather as much Corvette pieces as I can, so I can then try to build the ultimate flying hunk-a-junk that will be fugly from all directions 😂

But I want to gather scrap components for it first... That should keep me busy!

I took a screen shot before I ended the expedition. I fed AI some of the details so it could write the alt for me, as I just can't do this properly myself. 😔

I've been considering muting the term "Silksong" on socials b/c the internet is doing the internet thing where every negative take on the game is filling the airways, amplified by a thousand reposts, and once again it seems folk are desperate to enfold themselves in an ouroboros of unhappiness.

All the while, in my small discords and friend groups, we've just been.... enjoying it? It's hard, certainly, but the takes on the difficulty seem to me to be bordering on sheer nonsense, multiplied by the meme of "game hard" to appeal to every easy click one can get.

This Logitech G903 came in a job lot of broken gaming mice from an eBay listing no one else bid on.
The original owner spilled water down the scroll wheel hole and directly onto the power distribution circuitry. Someone else had just the PCB listed for sale and I figured I might as well.
Since this is 4th of one of these mice I've repaired/ressurrected, I figured it needed a little something extra.

Expedition 33 thoughts:

I played it nonstop for 5? hours and got through several areas. I recruited Lune and Maelle. I made it to the Gestral village.

I had some fun with the game but i don't think i'm going back.

I dislike the story and characters. Neither "legally distinct Robert Pattinson" or "Cool Asian Sorceress" or "Vanille (FF13) + Rikku (FF10) = win?" interest me visually or personality wise. I like playing physically strong characters. Give me a warrior with a big axe or a sword or a monk who fights with their bare fucking hands. Instead I'm forced to play with only the characters i would usually merely tolerate.

Setting up his sepia-toned gf in the prologue with a setting made out of proper nouns Let me know what kind of story i was in for.

I enjoyed the gameplay for the dodge/parry system and the builds, but the cutscenes consistently bored me. Everything is so whispy and regretful and dramatic and it demands a gravitas that i refuse to give it. I ended up skipping cutscenes cause they all move. so. slowly.

The music is very explicitly unenjoyable for me. The "Humming and chanting" soundtrack fell flat for me.

Finding/Trying badges and their badge points system was fun! I liked customizing builds looking for synergy. I played on normal difficulty and really enjoyed learning enemy timing.

The badges "pictos and lumina" system combined with the dodge/parry mechanic, convinced me that it resembles Nothing so much as "Paper Mario gameplay dressed up like Final Fantasy 10 or 13."

By 6 hours in/Gestral village i realized I'd gotten what i wanted/needed out of the mechanics but was unlikely to get anything else out of additional time with the story or characters, so i'm dropping it.

It's a very artistic game and those generally do very little for me.

So, yeh, Dune: Awakening is amazing.

I literally played 6hrs of it today, despite having things I needed to do. They can wait.

I'm very tempted to buy it, as it fixes a lot of problems with Conan Exiles, and focuses more on being a fun survival game.

Trying out new badges (sorry, "pictos") and equipping them for free with badge points (sorry, 'lumina') is fun. So is maximizing damage and learning enemy attack timing

I love the Borderlands games. Something about looter shooters appeal to a certain predisposition I may have toward addictive tendencies.
