The history of Nintendo, a Japanese video game company based in Kyoto, starts in 1889 when Fusajiro Yamauchi founded "Yamauchi Nintendo", a producer of hanafuda playing cards. Sekiryo Kaneda was company president from 1929 to 1949. His successor Hiroshi Yamauchi had Nintendo producing toys like the Ultra Hand, and video games, including arcade games, the Color TV-Game series of home game consoles (1977–83), and the Game & Watch series of handheld electronic games (1980–86).
Shigeru Miyamoto designed Donkey Kong (1981) for arcades: Nintendo's first international hit game, and origin of the company's mascot, Mario. After the American video game crash of 1983, Nintendo filled a market gap there by releasing their Japanese Famicom home console (1983) as the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in 1985. Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka's innovative Famicom/NES titles, Super Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda, greatly influenced gaming. The Game Boy handheld console (1989) and the Super Nintendo Entertainment System home console (1990) were successful, yet Nintendo had an intense business rivalry with Sega's consoles. The Virtual Boy (1995), a portable console with stereoscopic 3D graphics, was a critical and financial failure. With the Nintendo 64 (1996), Nintendo began making games with fully-3D computer graphics. The Pokémon media franchise, partially owned by Nintendo, has been a worldwide hit since 1996.
Nintendo Co., Ltd.[c] is a Japanese multinational video game company headquartered in Kyoto. It develops, publishes, and manufactures both video games and video game consoles.
The history of Nintendo began when craftsman Fusajiro Yamauchi founded the company in 1889 to produce handmade hanafuda playing cards. After venturing into various lines of business and becoming a public company, Nintendo began producing toys in the 1960s, and later video games. Nintendo developed its first arcade games in the 1970s, and distributed its first system, the Color TV-Game in 1977. If you're a video game enthusiast of almost any degree, you have probably heard about Citizen Sleeper. I'm here to say it definitely deserves the accolades. Once I started it I was unable to put it down and "completed" the game in 12hrs, seeing multiple (but not ALL) endings.
The writing here is some of the best I've come across since Disco Elysium, to compare it to a similar-ish game (tho you don't get to actually control your character in CS). Some genuine emotion invoking story lines here, which is good since there's not much traditional video game play.
Nutshell, this is basically a visual novel with a pretty 3D background that you use to navigate to various hubs and input the dice you're randomly assigned each day in order to complete tasks and advance the various stories you'll interact with. You earn advancement points when you complete scenarios you apply to improve various perks your character has.
Considering there's not much "video game" here, the other aspects must carry the weight, and they mostly do. The music is fantastic. The writing is great. The art style is cool.
The one place this game falters, imo, is the interface via controller. It becomes a bit tiresome navigating around The Eye. However, the rest of the game makes it tolerable as does the fairly short time to see most endings, 12 hours in my case.
Basically, if you're a fan of TTRPGs/RPGs in general, you should have already played this. If you haven't, highly recommend you check it out. Looking forward to playing the sequel(s, soon).

After finishing the very good Firered - Rocket Edition (better story than any of the main games) I'm diving right into the next ROM-Hack: "Heart & Soul" which is basically an enhanced take on the the Second Gen based on GBA.
And I really think I can't go back to the official versions, H&S just had so many quality of life improvements:
- autorun
- shortcut for catching
- exp. share for whole team
- trade evolutions evolve by level
- trade + item evolution evolve by item
- HMs don't need teaching, just an able party member
- and many more customizing options for nuzlocks, etc.
