Well, Anbernic sent me their VERY #Nintendo DSi-ish handheld to review a little while back. After an interesting first week (they had a desync issue where the top screen ended up running at 40 Hz while the bottom stayed at 60 Hz), they fixed the issue with an update.

I spent a LOT of time with this handheld, and honestly...I'm one of the vert few who loved it :)

Got it working! Turns out the controller D pad comes through on my system as left joystick. I was able to map it to keyboard arrows with antimicro and mapped the buttons to key presses, too. Not sure if there's another way, or why this wasn't necessary in Kodi, but at least it's working. Fun game, too! Although I couldn't find that damn door in level 1-3...

We had some close matches eventually it was time for the final duel, Me in Headbringer vs Graphite in Mad Stomp(Melee orientated build)

First round i was winning but decided to detach all my weapons and shoulder mounts going full melle(Only fists and kicks) mad stomp still has a heavy hitting chainsaw that can rip my AC apart.

The duel continued, i won the first round, After that every consecutive round i drop weapons at the start to keep it fun.

We had a 1 minute 30 second fight (2 minute time limit) in the very end Graphite manages to beat my AC.

We exchange blows Graphite manages to hit me with the chainsaw once im low HP, I change my tactic become more aggressive Staggered graphite via ACS overload, this gave me an opportunity to get some good hits in after which Graphite became more aggressive, I managed to dodge the chainsaw once but after that the second got me

I started playing #ClairObscurExpedition33 today and while the game has been interesting and fun in the first few hours so far, the clear lack of sync between the audio and the lip movement is frustrating. It makes the game feel unpolished to me. I wondered if this was because the animations and lip movements were made for French speech. But that is not the case and the issue is present even with French audio, according to the reports on the internet. #gaming

I usually find the competitive drives at the end of the season a giant pain in the ass in Overwatch. Ended up getting through 95% of it last night in a giant win streak with randoms. Guess I was just in the zone.

#TheCallistoProtocol runs quite well on a 16GB #Radeon 9060 XT - on #Linux, via PCIe Gen4 x4. I'm getting constant 60fps, with framelimit, max settings, RT, and FSR quality.

Sometimes, for a few seconds, i get 15-25fps - there might be a few background tasks loading down the CPU, like 2 VMs, 2 browsers, eMail, bits and bobs. 😅

Also, my RAM doesn't overheat anymore - it's now being utilised as RAM, instead of shared VRAM. 👍

Carnist and speciesist assumptions make their way into games in many ways, its almost always more satiating to eat flesh in survival games even when abundant plant sources are available, other animals are often treated as resources or objects even when other resource gathering mechanics are available killing other animals is often the only way to progress.

With alien species, if theyre humanoid theyre usually friendly if theyre non-humanoid especially if theyre spiders centipedes or worms or sometimes other bugs theyre hostile

Also many cozy games portray fishing as relaxing when its literally impaling someones mouth with a hook

Sometimes other animals are even reduced to the point of set dressing and killing them has no benefit or drawback whatsoever and their body disappears in a few seconds

In the pokemon series one of the games antagonists are a non human animal rights group, this was undoubtedly a response to critique of the game being pro exploitation and confinement but it comes accross as them doubling down

These things matter not because simulated animals matter but because normalisation of speciesist assumptions subconsciously affects us and it says something about the values game developers have. Thats not to say that fiction can't have elements of speciesism, fictional worlds can be morally imperfect without narratively framing carnism or speciesism as normal natural and necessary.

I decided to do another playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077 (not sure what number this is, but GoG says I've played 400hrs or so), but this time pushing the whole cyberpsycho thing to the limit: focus mostly on katana, mobility, with only a little ranged backup.

Канал SNK Corporation буквально забить видосами про игру «FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves».
А на просторах этого видео-хостинг монополиста встречаются много видео про игру, зачастую обозначенной как «Fatal Fury: CotW».

Непрекращающийся инфоповод в том, что последний вариант Fatal Fury выходил аж в 1999 году.
В классическом понимании это и не было играми для ПК или консолей, это из мира «аркадных машин» — весьма мощных игровых автоматов. Игра стала самым известным и узнаваемым файтингом в мире именно благодаря своей популярности на игровых автоматах платформы Neo Geo — выйдя как «Garou: Mark of the Wolves».

С игровыми приставками не сложилось.
В тот же 1999-й год, на рынке стала появляться инновационная приставка для видео-игр Sega Dreamcast и вот под неё единственную вышла эта игра, названная как «Fatal Fury: Mark of the Wolves». Особой популярности эта игровая приставка не снискала и мало кому известна вообще сама по себе, продавалась всего пару лет.
А потом было и банкротство SNK и прекращение продаж Sega Dreamcast — всё так же, почти одномоментно, в районе 2001 года (тот самый Dot-com bubble, задевший очень много кого).

Был и 3D-вариант игры «Fatal Fury: Wild Ambition», что последний раз так же вышел в 1999 году. Вот только для другой платформы игровых автоматов Hyper Neo Geo 64, а на приставки был портирован для Sony PlayStation с последующим переизданием для PS3 и PSP.

Тот самый момент, когда шквал популярности некой серии по миру совершенно не затронул РФ, не было на пост-СССР пространстве сетей из салонов с игровыми автоматами. Почти у всех были свои персональные карточки, на которые автоматы записывали «сохранения» разных игр.

Не удивительно, что этом фоне релизных событий разномастные ИТ-скуфы оказались в радиусе поражения маркетинговой компании про другой файтинг — Street Fighter. Хотя и само по себе появлении таких игр на пустынном ландшафте 2-го Switch, вполне себе инфоповод и событие, из-за того насколько крайне неспешно Nintendo разгоняет новый Switch.

I spent several hours today researching and comparing and testing different anti-aliasing modes in No Man's Sky with this new RTX 5080 GPU.

I have been using TAA for years in NMS and am quite familiar with DLSS, having read about it over the years. But, today I discovered DLAA (Deep Learning Anti-Aliasing) and that NMS supports it.

And it's just awesome!

Ryzom.com is a Linux-friendly game, and has options to view from first-person face-to-face mode, with shooting, magic, or bashing , but I preferred the amazing omniscient view of landscapes, fauna and flora. A huge world for sneaking around in, with few players, considering the world size. Turn up all the video detail your machine can handle. It feels a bit like being in the movie 'Avatar'.
