I'm playing Oregon Trail on the switch 2. You don't have to care about the water supply, but I get these events "your water is running low. There's water here. Take it?" And every time I'm like I HAVE TO MANAGE THE WATER SUPPLY TOO?! And I take the water.

So everyone has typhoid and I could have just ignored that event, because no, you don't have to care about the water supply.

The Ghouls 'n' Ghosts 'n' Goblins range of Capcom platformers are among my all-time favorite games.

Love the spooky atmosphere, the gorgeous graphics, the soundtracks and the variation in the levels.

The games are very tough to complete. I owned Ghouls 'n' Ghosts for the Sega Megadrive, and painfully discovered that you needed to complete the entire game twice to reach the ultimate end boss: the Devil himself. 😓

Decided to try Dragon’s Dogma 2, and it’s so good and fun! Reminds me of Fable.
Thought I would not like the idea of mandatory companions, but the implementation is fantastic! They are so responsive to the environment and my actions, especially in battle, that you can’t imagine this game without them after some time.

I spent 2 days with support in 2020 with no success. I even downloaded and re-flashed the firmware, but no improvement.

Auf Sepiasearch (peertube) finde ich leider keine Videos zum Game Timberborn. Das ist ein Stadtaufbauspiel mit Bibern statt Menschen. Die EarlyAccess-Phase geht nach ein paar Jahren bald zu Ende und gestern wurden noch Funktionen zur Automatisierung eingebaut - sehr cooles Game, läuft stabil und ich habe viel Spaß damit.

Freaking #Neopets. Has anyone else managed to get their account back after being frozen for "security"? Because no matter what proof I show them, I answer the questions they say will prove the account is mine, the (probably) bot just replies with "that's not enough proof". I still have my sign up email! I sent a screenshot. Back when they stored passwords in plaintext. It's been nearly 10 years now I think, and they still won't let my have my account back. I got that account back in 2001.

This is why I don't really bother with online only games these days. You put all that effort into something that someone else has total control over.

I wonder how long before Steam makes their software brick on Windoze 10. I will have to figure out my Linux Mint by then. I refuse to use 11.

I have decided to microblog my journey installing #LinuxMint, this time. I don't feel that it gets enough attention for how dead simple it usually is.

This morning I needed Valve's Steam to set up my game library, and I needed to install my favorite password manager.

To install Steam, I had to search for it in the 'Software Manager' and click install, and then enter my password.

To install my Password manager, I visited the download page and was offered a choice of .Deb or .rpm file.

I happen to know the RPM wouldn't have done anything on Mint, so I downloaded the .deb and then double-clicked on it. It needed some additional packages, so I had to enter my password a second time and press 'Ok'.

As a die hard command line user, this is still how I setup Linux. Even in terms of keypress count, this was just easy.

But...stay tuned and I'll probably share some zany command line stuff that I still do to setup my environment just the way I like it. Solutions that I wrote for myself aren't in the software manager (yet), after all.

So okay:

1) Select something with nice colors (we use the dwarf palm / pineaplle plant BC it shows colors well)

2) Click on the color u want to color the OTHER thing.

3) Click back twice to get back to build menu

4) Select the thing u want to color that color (try stone or wood to see the effect first)

5) Build!

Aaaand it should be the shiny color. It's how I got the pretty blue walls. And how Vul made a red and white medical clinic.

So okay tho, it doesnt work for EVERY item but it works walls and a lot of other things! It is weird they coded the colors but like, don't offer them for easy use. That's so NMS!

Yeah! Screw you, Emily. This was actually pretty cathartic. I got the self-respecting good ending. I didn't let Emily string me along and mess with my heart. I kept the boundaries from the beginning and didn't let her cross them. This is the only way to win. Whatever choices you make, she always leads you on then ditches you for the abusive Brad/Travis anyway. So the best ending is to shut her down from the start. Now if only I had the benefit of hindsight in real life!

Emily sucks, but the game itself is good.
I might buy the sequels if they go on offer.

Finished Resident Evil Requiem earlier today, and WOW! What. A. Game! I had so much fun! I normally don't get too attached to a lot of games (even those that are highly rated by folks who love to play games) so to be absolutely absorbed by a game was just the best feeling ever!

I'm going to give RE: Requiem a mental break, and then I'll come back to this in the future. I think I still have a RE4 play-through to get through!

Okay. I said I was over the whole streaming thing, but I can’t push it away. I did enjoy it, I just wonder if it was the Twitch platform that I didn’t get on with over time. Who knows? 😅

So I did a thing. I created an Owncast instance for myself to occasionally stream on. No fixed times, just whenever I feel like doing it. I’ve done some testing over the last week or so and now I think I’m ready to start a proper stream!

Currently trying to track down a Steam copy of Elevator to The Moon! I managed to find the Rift version but that obviously doesn't work without Oculus components.

I think the SteamVR version might be lost media at this point. All the links are dead and there are no torrents.
