Update on the Steam Machine knock-off: like I was saying earlier, there are some sharp edges on going down your own path building your own. The latest sharp bit is resuming from sleep which I'd argue is pretty critical for any "set top box". Can you wake it up from sleep via the controller and jump back into gaming?

Right now for my build, the answer is *yes. Unfortunately, that yes has the caveat of "and when it comes back from sleep you will be presented with the most psychedelic version of SteamOS".

I still need to figure out exactly how to fix this so it doesn't happen, but cycling the "Automatically Set Resolution" under Settings -> Display will get the display back to where it's supposed to be.

A couple of my Street Fighter or Tekken friends had a blast playing #KingOfFighters 15 with me this weekend and we've decided to try and be mediocre at it.

We're defining that as having a gameplan for each team member, a reason for the team composition and order, and at least one, real, useful, normal>special>super confirm. Lv 2, Lv 3, and MAX mode are optional. No requirement to pick a tourney viable team. None of us are going to get good enough for tier lists to matter.

The game is fun and i love the cast, i just recognize how inept i feel playing it, especially compared to how proficient i feelat Street Fighter 6. Soooo let's fix that.

Today marks the 30th anniversary of Id Software's Quake.

It's hard to convey how revolutionary this game was in 1996. Running on a fast Pentium, it delivered baked lighting, true 3D levels, polygonal enemies, a NIN score and Lovecraftian worlds at around 30 FPS @320x240 😜

It helped pioneer Internet FPS gaming through client-side prediction over 28.8Kb/s modems and drove adoption of early 3D accelerators.

I don't know what it is exactly, but Bioware was fucking cooking with the graphics of Mass Effect 2/3 and Dragon Age 2. That era of Bioware games has a certain *feel* to it - particularly with how it handles bright effects like fire, explosions, etc, and also with the positively gorgeous landscapes.

I wish that Cyberpunk 2077 wasn't so unstable. 🤔 It's a great game with compelling action and a futuristic atmosphere... it's also the only game to actually freeze up my PlayStation 5, which doesn't have any hardware issues to my knowledge! To be fair they have fixed a ton of issues, but it's by no means a game without some serious technical issues.

Played Coral Island, the 1.3 update is pretty good in terms of it being solid. I found that there were really just the single insect and a few dinosaur parts that I needed to donate before I completed the museum.

The jealousy system is a no-go for me because I want to learn the stories of the other characters (datable or not). That was the first setting I changed. As my top tier husbando in the game is Luke, he's sweet and gentle with a bit of sass mixed in. A lovely man. It feels nice to larp what it would be like if I could actually feel romantic feelings...

He wouldn't talk to me for days at a time because of the jealousy system and I was like. Nope, can't do that shit!

It also seems like they adjusted drop rates for fossils because I am finding way less of them...That is bothersome because if I want to find some fast, I need moar!

To note, they seem to have added a higher tier of animal product and it looks so badass. My animals are starting to produce the Eggs and Milk of the maximum high value level.

Been playing so much fucking Mega Man
Feeling kind of annoyed with myself.
After coming out, I got a little too raw with my realization of sexism everywhere and it kind of super fueled my misandry... and I had a hard time even playing games where you're a guy... and like... I used to fucking love Mega Man... it was my absolute favorite... but when I hit that point, all those "Man"s just pissed me off and I was like "Fuck this franchise".
I've stabilized a bit more now... and god... I forgot how much I loved this little blue fucker.

I beat Mega Man 1 and X, started on 2 and X2 as well as Legends 1 for when I want a bit more adventuring... and I even gave Misadventures Of Tron Bonne a whirl... it feels like a Team Rocket simulator. I fucking love it.
