Also ein Let's Play von einem Game zu machen was ich bisher noch nicht gezockt habe, funktioniert für mich irgendwie nicht.

Ich merke es gerade wieder im Fall von #pragmata.
Ich komme vom Feeling her einfach nicht richtig ins Spiel rein wenn die Aufnahme genauer gesagt Aufnahme mit Mikro läuft.
Vielleicht wäre es anders, wenn ich die Aufnahme ohne Mikrofon machen würde.
Wäre Aufnahme ohne Mikro für euch ok?

Generell würden von mir wahrscheinlich mehr Videos kommen wenn ich auf Mikrofon verzichten würde.
Und vermutlich würden dann auch Videos von sehr aktuellen Games auf meinem Kanal erscheinen.

Ich habe neulich mal einfach CachyOS installiert, zum ausprobieren sowie selbst herausfinden Ob oder Was an der Aufregung dran ist mit dieser Distribution für Linux im Kontext von Gaming. 😉

Da letztendlich Windows11 auch im 2. Versuch vorbei für mich war und weil ich sowieso nochmal eine weitere Distribution für Linux ausprobieren wollte die explizit auf Gaming hin optimiert ist, konnte ich somit die freigegebene zweite SSD gut dafür nutzen. 😁

Mint als Distribution werde ich weiterhin behalten, weil stabil und schlicht sowie einfach genau das was ich zum arbeiten will! 😊

CachyOS hingegen hat definitiv Potenzial für mich, nach nur ein paar Tagen des ausprobieren, besonders zum Daddeln. Definitiv mehr FPS mit gleicher Hardware wie unter Mint beim spielen, Wahnsinn!‼️🤩

ich bin so froh ich habe es geschafft das Videospiele flüssig auf meinen pc unter Linux laufen. Ich habe es schon mal mit Bazzite versucht hat aber nicht funktioniert, dann habe ich es unter
Pop-Os versucht und mit etwas Hilfe von Mistral Ai an terminal eingestellt habe (Pop-Os hat meine Nvidia Grafikkarte erst nicht registriert) hat es geklappt.

Built a Twitch Multi-Viewer web app and added the features that similar apps were missing.

I've used a few multi-viewer apps to watch multiple Twitch streams at once, but they all felt incomplete. So I built my own.

The "Manage" Feature is what other multi-viewers lack. Click "Manage" to open a modal where you can:
• Sort and reorder your Twitch players
• Add or remove channels

Other highlights:
• Chat tabs that highlight which channel you're actively viewing
• Built with Vite for asset compilation
• Bootstrap 5 for a responsive layout

If you watch multiple streams regularly, this might save you some time. Check it out and let me know what you think.

The project is opensource on my GitHub and can run locally or on GitHub Pages, Cloudflare Pages.

This is also a great starter project for anyone interested in creating a JavaScript web app using Vite, Node/NPM.

Ich habe mir die Thrustmaster T.1600M Space Edition gegönnt und was soll ich sagen? Ich bin absolut geflasht! 🤩 Wer jemals eine Space-Sim mit Dual Sticks (HOSAS) geflogen ist, weiß: Das ist ein völlig neues Level an Immersion. Das Fluggefühl im Verse ist einfach der Wahnsinn!

Aber das Beste kommt noch: Wie man sieht, hat mein Bubi den Dreh auch schon komplett raus! 👨‍👦‍👦

Es ist echt krass, wie intuitiv das Ganze ist. Er beherrscht das alles schon fast wie ein Profi:

Gestern im Racing Sim Fieber gewesen. #raceroom auf @opensuse Leap 16 gezockt. Läuft mit Steams Proton Version 10 und Gamemode sehr gut.

Dann noch #automobilista2 auf @CachyOS mit der Cachy eigenen Proton Version und ebenso Gamemode.

Das Ganze mit Controller und zwar dem #thrustmaster eSwap Pro. Dieser wurde bei beiden Systemen sofort erkannt und konnte mit Steam ins Spiel eingebunden werden. 🎮🏎️💻

🏁 Bristol Motor Speedway Recap | Tough Night in Thunder Valley for ETHiX Racing

Bristol Motor Speedway lived up to its reputation as one of the most unforgiving tracks on the schedule. ETHiX Racing showed speed early, but both cars were swept up in the chaos that defined the night, resulting in DNFs after a major incident just past the halfway point.

Steven Carlile entered the race with momentum after strong short‑track performances and backed it up by qualifying fifth. He fought through heavy traffic and shifting track conditions, but the constant incidents around him made it difficult to find rhythm. Chelsea Carter also showed solid pace, qualifying thirteenth and working to keep the No. 47 clean through the early stages.

The turning point came on lap 143 when the fourth‑place car spun and slid back up the track, collecting both ETHiX entries with nowhere to go. The damage was too severe for either car to continue, ending the night for the team. Carlile was credited with twentieth and Carter with twenty‑first. In the standings, Carlile slips to seventh while Carter moves to twenty‑third.

ForzaHorizon5 ist ein sehr schönes Open-World-Rennspiel, welches auch auf dem Steamdeck eine gute Figur macht. Ich hatte mir kürzlich die Premium Edition gekauft, da diese im Sale war, und hatte mich sehr auf das Spiel gefreut. Doch meine Freude wurde schnell unterbrochen und durch Frust und Ärger ersetzt.
Jedes Mal, wenn ich das Spiel gestartet habe und die Einleitung starten wollte, brach das Spiel mit der Fehlermeldung „Bildschirmleser Fehler“ ab. Man konnte nichts machen, außer das Spiel zu beenden.

Es hat mich zwei Stunden Suche gekostet, um auf die Lösung des Problems zu kommen. Eine Neuinstallation, Proton-Version wechseln oder Cache löschen hatte zu nichts gebracht, außer Frust. Bis ich das Spiel auf Englisch gestartet habe, da kam kein Fehler. Also war der Fehler wohl in der deutschen Sprache zu finden, irgendwas wurde vielleicht nicht richtig gesetzt, weshalb dieser Fehler produziert wurde.

Der Fehler sagt im Endeffekt eigentlich aus, dass der Bildschirmleser eine Sprache erwartet, z.B. Englisch, die aber eben nicht ausgewählt ist. Was bei Deutsch ja auch stimmt. Warum der Bildschirmleser aber einfach aktiv ist, ohne dass der Spieler ihn aktiv eingeschaltet hat ist mir ein Rätsel.

Um den Fehler zu behoben, muss man in den Desktop-Modus und dort den FileExplorer seiner Wahl öffnen.
Folgenden Pfad öffnen:

/home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps

Dort müsst ihr die Datei „appmanifest_1551360.acf“ mit einem Editor wie Kate öffnen. Hier sucht ihr den Eintrag „UserConfig“. Dort ändert ihr „english“ zu „german“ und speichert das Ganze ab.

Danach sollte der Fehler Geschichte sein. Das sollte auch auf anderen Linux Distributionen klappen.

Have spent the past 24 hours updating SimCity4. Despite being 20+ years old an update was released recently which allows the script kiddies to do some incredible new things.
The process involved a running battle with despair and anxiety as all things that matter to me do, but thanks to help from the Simtropolis forum we got there.
The new tools I will download tomorrow, for now I shall just savour getting my zen garden back

My son has Windows 10 on his gaming rig and refuses to go to Windows 11. He wants me to help him get up to speed with Linux on this machine.

He's "just a user" in every stereotypical sense of the computer term so needs help for now. He's away from home for work for five days of the week so I'm hoping I can off-load a lot of the fiddly setup stuff for him.

I'm trying out CachyOS in a VM. The installer looks pretty slick.

I noticed it offers btrfs by default [ ☹️ ] but has zfs as an option [ 😍 ] so let's try that to start. Choosing KDE desktop.

In spite of being a fairly thick 2.8GB install ISO it still seems to download a lot over the wire at install time. Kinda sux on my small, metered, Internet connection.

Would've thought more would be on the media, or get to a first boot scenario before downloading a lot of files. What if install fails after downloading all that stuff over a metered connection?

Installer sits at 19% for a very long time with nothing indicating activity. Looking at the router is showing the traffic.

I'm hoping the rolling release nature of the distro is more "curated" than vanilla Arch.

Total Reload (PC) You wake up in an AI's droid body, and are quickly tasked with solving your way through the puzzle maze he's been building for millennia, with quite the lofty goal as your reward.
This is a pretty good Portal inspired FP puzzle game. Has all the things you'd expect: a disembodied "AI" talking to you, cubes, a gun, lots of rooms that require you to figure out the what the order of actions is.
Gonna get my 2 major nitpicks out the way first. 1) the actor playing the AI speaks in a stilted, fast odd pattern, which is fine, but also mispronounces words for .. reasons? Ex, "cube" is "koob". IDK, maybe it's just a me thing but I thought it was annoying. 2) I found myself slowed down by the switch hitboxes being so small that if you're carrying a cube, you can get it "knocked out" of your hands, making you have to pick it up and hit the switch again etc. (I also had odd issues with the controls/controller at times, but that could be a local deal with my Linux Distro.)
However, those weren't a big enough deal to detract from my enjoyment of the game. It's not Portal (but what could be, really) but I certainly found myself scratching my head more than a few times trying to decipher what I was supposed to do, which is great for this kinda game.
The story is decent, and being able to "ask" the AI questions is a neat add. Mechanics are a bit floaty and slow but it's not gratingly so. The few music tracks don't get annoying which is good as you'll hear them often, heh.
All around this is a very good effort to make a Portal game by a small dev. If you like the genre you should pick it up. It's a solid 3/5 👍
