Okay. I said I was over the whole streaming thing, but I can’t push it away. I did enjoy it, I just wonder if it was the Twitch platform that I didn’t get on with over time. Who knows? 😅

So I did a thing. I created an Owncast instance for myself to occasionally stream on. No fixed times, just whenever I feel like doing it. I’ve done some testing over the last week or so and now I think I’m ready to start a proper stream!

You can mostly see this stuffs from the pictures, so yeah. But I like the fueling arm from the dock, the lights on top to warm spaceships, and my tiny water landing pads! On and the supports for the treasure room because those were a pain to do, ha ha.

This is inside of my house... base... whatever okay? You get to see the changes I made through the whole place.

Stuff I am proud of:

- My bug lights. I rly thought I did good with that idea; Vul says it feels "paper lantern" and I agree!

- The expanded kitchen. I opened up the roof and made it feel more open, I am really happy with how it came out.

- The adventurer lounge. I love the planets floating in there, and (eventually) I will make a new tune that suits it.

- The treasure room. OH YISS.

- Mostly all of it. Ha ha ha. I love my house.

Just played through the short Scott Pilgrim EX demo. It was excellent and made me quite eager to buy the full game when it launches in a week or so. Tons of retrogaming references everywhere as you would expect.

Only two very minor issues/bugs: boomerangs sometimes get stuck in midair and there's an extensive tutorial on the fighting mechanics but nothing at all tells you how to get to your inventory.

A definite instant pickup for me.

- Trees are actually multiple trees smooshed together using the free placement and resize options; it makes them less generic

I mostly didn't notice it until I took what I thought would be a cool screenshot and this blurry mess is what came out. Turned that motion blur crap off with the quickness.

Just finished Grandia II on the #Dreamcast, an absolutely solid RPG that I enjoyed a great deal.

It wasn't perfect. It was a little easy, with certain spells being way overpowered. It tended to drag a bit at the start. And some of the UI oddities tended to annoy.

But its combat was generally very enjoyable and quick-paced. It had some lovely super-camp voice acting. And its progression system was very satisfying.

Best of all, it felt very *Dreamcast*, you know?

Starting from pole, Steven Carlile (@carlile) led the field to green and quickly established control. He traded the lead with teammate Tyler Krawczyk early and ran up front for most of the day. After finishing second in Stage 2, Carlile was caught in a wild last-lap melee triggered by contact with #18 Vince Mitchell. Despite the chaos, he slipped through the wreckage to finish P3, leading 22 laps.

“Atlanta was exactly the kind of race that reminds you why we do this. It was wild, it was unpredictable, and somehow we still came out of it with a strong finish. Sitting second in the points this early is something I’m really proud of. I’m thrilled with where we are and even more excited about where we’re headed.”

Making his season debut, Tyler Krawczyk wasted no time making an impact. After starting 17th, he surged to the front, leading a race-high 84 laps and winning both stages. In the final lap chaos, he tangled with Tyler Belanger while battling for second but recovered to finish P4.

"Car felt amazing early on and got a touch loose later on in the run. The racing was a lot better than I expected. Thankfully I was able to get to together with my teammate early on and I was able to lead a lot of laps and win both of the stages. Finished 4th can’t be mad at that. Overall a really good day in the 48 Chevy!"

Steven Carlile started from pole, led early, and stayed up front all afternoon. After getting tagged on the final lap and surviving a five‑wide scramble through a massive wreck, he powered across the line for a strong P3 finish.

Okay. I must give props to #Capcom because the map of this game is kinda cool for the time. This is basically a #Metroidvania and it has actually been pretty easy to follow along the path without getting too lost.

I made it to this library place using the Spade Key and solved a puzzle. It's cool that the game throws away the items you no longer need :P

I really have to ask... How does a game that's intentionally designed to look like it's from 1997 (Abiotic Factor) manage to somehow use 81% of a 7900XTX? And models are intentionally very low poly, textures are low res, etc etc. I'm looking at VRAM and it's like 3GB (and that includes the DE!) so I guess all the actual utilization of the GPU is shaders or something?

So many watts that... just don't seem to even really be doing anything.

I love this game to death, but I really wish it was more efficient...

I don’t have much experience with Linux, but I do have some. I’m thinking of leaving Windows as I’m trying to focus more on privacy and less AI.

I tried a Bazzite bootable install, and everything seemed to work great except for one thing- the RGB on my XPG ram sticks. OpenRGB controlled everything except those sticks as they went undetectable by the software. I tried the latest experimental OpenRGB build with no improvements.

That seems to be the only incompatible bit. While annoying it’s not a deal breaker. How do you feel about using bazzite on a higher end desktop for gaming and as a daily driver? I don’t play any games that use kernel anticheat.

UPDATE: Installed it this morning. Went with the Gnome version. Really enjoying it so far! Still getting everything situated, but I’m a happy camper. Thanks for the help, everyone :)

Some custom styling is added to make it look nicer. I also found a way to compile the Python code into C (using Nuitka) to make it more performant, smaller in size. And the AppImage version is also done, except there are still some desktop integration issues, AppImageLaucher and other tools can't integrate it for some reason. Will figure out what's the issue.

I really love my Saab J35 Draken. It's a wonderful piece of tech, and the first aircraft capable of doing the "cobra manoeuvre" purely because it could "super stall"; basically at full speed (Mach 1.0+), you could fully stall the lift of the aircraft just by pulling up.

The weird combination lifting body/double delta design is quite interesting to fly, especially when someone wants to turn fight. She'll happily sit at 350kph, in a turn, with full reheat, without dropping a centimetre of height.

Definitely my new found love in WT

Further down are the stubby wings that jut out from the first intake-lifting body delta wing. The tail is relatively short. It has a green-blue mottled cammo with some decals I've added: eyes and mouth on the front, and the Bo Time Gaming logo on the back. It's in a fairly plain hanger with rocket pods and missiles set up around it

I have decided to microblog my journey installing #LinuxMint, this time. I don't feel that it gets enough attention for how dead simple it usually is.

This morning I needed Valve's Steam to set up my game library, and I needed to install my favorite password manager.

To install Steam, I had to search for it in the 'Software Manager' and click install, and then enter my password.

To install my Password manager, I visited the download page and was offered a choice of .Deb or .rpm file.

I happen to know the RPM wouldn't have done anything on Mint, so I downloaded the .deb and then double-clicked on it. It needed some additional packages, so I had to enter my password a second time and press 'Ok'.

As a die hard command line user, this is still how I setup Linux. Even in terms of keypress count, this was just easy.

But...stay tuned and I'll probably share some zany command line stuff that I still do to setup my environment just the way I like it. Solutions that I wrote for myself aren't in the software manager (yet), after all.
