Terrible webbing on this pirate ship though fortunately drying over night helped a lot. Second attempt still wasn't perfect though was at least able to clean it up and be usable.
Used Sunlu PLA with a translucent blue base and wood ship. Goes great with the kraken tiles which have the same base and then a metallic green body.
These are bring used as upgrades to Feed the Kraken essential edition board game. Now to actually play it ☺️

Been playing on and off for about 6 years, sometimes with friends but mostly single player. Was feeling the urge to play with people again (my gaming buddies are too entrenched in ESO lol) so tried a couple public servers.
The first one seemed active, was on day 314 when I joined and a couple very friendly players gifted me some armour and weapons and invited me to their base for horde night. It was really fun (HOW many zombies?!) and exciting, until the base owner threw a hissy fit because he didn't get the most kills and locked everyone in, preventing us from leaving and looting bags. An argument developed in chat and I just left. Don't need that drama.
2nd one was on day 13 when I joined but no-one else was around so left as I didn't want to advance them to day 14 if they weren't online to take part. Posted on their discord, no response, so I guess pretty dead.
3rd one was on day 164 when I joined, set about gathering resources and base building, said hello in chat but no response, turn got accused of copying someones base (it was a build I found on YouTube that has proven to work and is my go to, so wasn't even their idea lol) and kicked off.
So I'm looking for a chill group to join that none of the above 😁 I'm guessing that anyone using Mastadon is going to be awesome to game with!
I'm in the UK and usually game between 6pm and 10pm, sometimes more in the day if work is slow, more on a Sunday.

I can heartily recommend "Fabledom" both at full-price and it's a near "must-buy" on sale.
It's a cute, funny and silly city-builder with decent economics, some combat for fun and the expected "nobles don't want peasants nearby"-style mechanics. Sprinkle in some inter-kingdom trade and romance and you check all the expected boxes.
But the reason to buy is... just how relaxing and tranquil playing it is? While you absolutely can fail, the tutorial teaches you at a sensible pace how to play and the difficulty floor is really quite low for the genre.
Zen/10, do recommend.

Research has me constantly under pressure. I'm 2 years sober of alcohol, I stopped smoking 1 month and a half ago and I don't even drink coffee anymore, only tea, because I was drinking too much coffee. I needed something to decompress.
So I started playing video games. But this computer, although it has a RTX 5070 GPU, was built for machine learning development, not for gaming.
Yesterday I changed the CPU from a ryzen 5 7600X to a ryzen 7 9800X3D and games run smoothly since then. It cost a lot of money but I saved up by not smoking. It took me about 30 minutes to replace the CPU and it went without a hitch.
So now on evenings I force myself to stop doing research and I immerse myself in the universe of The Witcher 3.

Has anyone ever done any kind of monitor ranking based purely on thermal output?
Our work/play/and-everything-else space is, let's say, thermally challenged. And while we can make the hotter months slightly better by not playing games and kneecapping our whole computer by disabling 2/3 of the cores, forcing it to it's lowest power state, etc etc, the main heat emitting parts of our setup is our two monitors, which really really output a lot of combined heat.
Of course, display heat output is proportional to screen size so a 34 and 27 inch monitor combined will do more heat output than a 12 inch laptop's display, that is a given. But these monitors get unreasonably hot sometimes.
Does anyone know of any good large factor displays with little to none delta-over-ambient? Colour accuracy is the most important factor, followed by lack of ghosting and general stability. Despite being for art and gaming, we can't for the life of us tell 120hz from 165hz so that ain't that big of a factor. So just having lots of space for activities and being able to edit photos and draw on it is really the big item here, besides heat.

Obviously, a game can't have branching narrative on every tiny interactions. But I wonder, wouldn't it be better to have no dialogue selection at all, rather than this illusion of choice?
One way to look at it is that perhaps for some players, what counts isn't whether there are huge ramifications to a dialogue choice, but to be in control of their character, rather than the game having a predetermined line of dialogue. Even if "fate" will put them back on the same path no matter which choice.
