              Normal Golf Game (PC) The guy that gave us Fruit Ninja and Jetpack Joyride invites you to play a totally normal game of golf. What? It's not like you're trapped here or anything..

              NGG answers a question nobody in their right mind would ask: What if you combined QWOP with a golf swing? The answer is obviously one of the most frustrating(ly addictive) experiences imaginable.

              You start by "waking up", being told you've been given the chance to be the course champion, and that it'll cost you $100k, which is all you have +$10, lol. Then your car is towed. Best get to golfing, buddy!

              So the focal point here is the swing "controls". The club head wobbles various ways, both side to side and pivoting on it's axis. You swing by clicking (or using a thumbstick with a controller) to grab the hands of a mini-golfer in the HUD and pulling them around the swing plane to contact the ball.

              It's easily the most convoluted way to enact a golf swing in a game ever. I would know, I been playing them since Golf on NES. Even when you get everything as right as you can, you don't exactly feel like YOU did it as much as you got lucky things didn't fall apart before contact, lol.

              You do sort of get the hang of it after a while, but this is still a game for the patient. 13 hours and 5500+ strokes for me to roll credits on the "easy" ending 🤣

              The main task is to finish the 9 hole championship with a Par score. Thankfully, you can buy assists like no wind, mulligans, or a skip hole card that just gives you the par score for the hole. You "earn" money completing "bounties", challenges littered all over the course.

              NGG is not for anyone looking for a relaxing game of golf. Basically it's a game for those of us that like to torture ourselves, esp those that like janky games. This is just intentional jank 😆 If that sounds like you, fully recommend checking it out. 👍 👍

                Did that '9 games that shaped me' thing (do yours at my9games.net). Many of these won't be surprises, I've written about most of these. Ms. Pac-Man was the first arcade game I loved as a kid in the 80s, Kirby I played on a friends' Game Boy, just as I did with Diablo, on a friends' PC. Sim City I played first at school, and all the other 90s ones (Wolfenstein, Doom, Sim Ant, etc) would have been on our own family Mac or PC. I referenced Rogue here, I actually played Mac Moria first, but same thing.

                            God, I've played Manhunt 1 & 2, almost all GTA games & Bully thinking that'd toughen me up. I couldn't accept the fact that I was THAT soft, but then I finished Elden Ring and wouldn't you know it, I cried again.

                            I almost did it while fighting the Elden Beast. I had to hold it all back cos if I died again I'd be really pissed! But then after a day or two that's when I couldn't hold it back.

                            At this point might as well just embrace it and let it all out while in-game. It actually hurts my eyes holding back my tears haha

                              I like the simplicity of The Blackest Sea’s mechanics. So far, I haven’t been caught without food, beverages, fuel, and a safe place to sleep, so I’m not really sure what happens without them. But they seem to be the right number of extra things to manage without causing unwanted stress.

                                      A few weeks before the Chicago AMOA show, news got out that Williams had a new game, Gorgar, that could talk.

                                      Bally management panicked. They pulled their experimental fibreglass cabinet KISS out and hastily added speech.

                                      This new prototype KISS with primitive speech boards could barely scream out intelligible speech such as "Get the K!", "KISS", and groaned "Too much Rock and Roll!" when tilted.

                                                  Is it fair that in recurring voting systems majority always has it's way?

                                                                                  Several hours of playing elden ring and years of playing god eater paid off. Also good to see bears be represented in game ʕ´•ᴥ•`ʔ

                                                                                  Game runs flawlessly on archlinux w/ cachyos kernel too. Have GE-Proton 11-7 as steam play compat tool, skip the launcher and use d3d12.

                                                                                                                              I have never had a gaming experience quite like this one. The last time I had to literally take notes was over a decade ago, and the fact that I had to take screenshots and work out the puzzle solutions was incredible to do in real time on stream!

                                                                                                                              We did ultimately beat the game, and uncovered almost every secret, save for the FINAL PUZZLE which is honestly just fine. I'm perfectly happy with what we were able to accomplish in such a short amount of time with this game, and it has genuinely skyrocketed itself into the short list of my favorite games of all time.

                                                                                                                              I am so happy I had the opportunity to experience this game on my own, and I highly encourage anyone who loves this sort of Zelda-like puzzle solving with meta level progression to give TUNIC a try for yourself! It's one of the few games I wish I could completely forget so that I could experience it fresh all over again!
