1) Pelia (the engineer) is played by #CarolKane . She also played Miracle Max's wife in #ThePrincessBride . #SNW makes two references to the film.

2) The book referenced in the episode is authored by "Benny Russell." That was the name of Sisko's alter ego when he imagined himself back in time as a black man in the 1920's/1930's, who authored sci-fi stories for a magazine.

#StarTrekDS9's "Shakaar" gives us another great look at Kai Winn's belt buckle, shaped like the Bajoran emblem. But notice how she covers the buckle when she talks about the "common good for Bajor" at the end. This was a great acting choice by Louise Fletcher, subtly hinting how Winn is only interested in herself, matching her actions in the episode (and all of #DS9, for that matter...). 😊
