I'm starting to wonder if it would have been better for the Star Trek franchise if the Federation had lost the Dominion War.

They could have done something as good as what Wars did with Andor - set 100 or 20O years after the Federation lost. Or have Janeway show up from the Delta Quadrant and say "Oh no. Fuck this shit."
