TAD
Tad
2016 U.S. Ltd. Edition

THIS is a hell of a find.

This is a bonus LP that was included with pre-orders for the 3 LP deluxe Tad reissue bundle from Sub Pop.
It includes all of the extra left over bonus material; B-sides, non-album singles, previously unreleased material, and studio demos.

Some of this stuff is hard-to-find on its own, and it’s nice to have all this stuff in one place.

One of the gnarliest, most underrated bands of that whole 90s grunge/alternative movement. So meaty, nasty and riffy.

Tad Doyle for president.

The satirical track "Russian Interference" (Ingérence Russe ) is close to topping French pop charts! 😉

A fun parody song that humorously blames every small inconvenience on "Russian interference", mocking politicians and media who frequently do the same.

Sheena and the Rokkets - Shinku Pack

I discovered this 1978 album when I was trawling through albums produced by Haruomi Hosono. It has a very Hunx and his Punx trashy punk sound - taking influence from the Stooges and Devo to name a few. Also features Haruomi YMO band members Ryuichi Sakamoto and Yukihiro Takahashi on keys. Gosh that photo shoot must have been awful in the plastic – “sorry just one more take please”.

This is their first album and I thought I might have trouble finding it, but by the end of the trip I had seen countless copies. I picked this up from the HMV in Osaka in a department store which in my view had one of the best soul funk sections I had ever seen, not completely raided, and the prices across the store for most things (unless you were looking for American 60’s / 70’s rock) were incredibly reasonable and at times under priced. The guys who served me (there were two, I don’t know why) were super excited I was buying this.

Ella hablaba, algunas palabras llegaban a mi alma pero otras a mi mente.
¿Hace cuanto tiempo no me sentía asi?

THE NERVES
Best Collection
2026 U.S. 2xLP pressing
Red vinyl

This is some of the best work that Jack White’s Third Man Records has ever done.

This is a comprehensive history of The Nerves; a band you may know better through OTHER artists having hits with their songs, most notably Blondie and The Paul Collins Beat.

This collection shows you how phenomenal ALL three songwriters were beyond just “Hanging On The Telephone”, & how rich their limited catalog was.

The Nerves had a remarkable influence for a band that lived such a short life. On punk, power-pop, & all things in between.
ALL of these songs were taken from the original master & source tapes. The studio recordings, demos, live takes… ALL of them sound phenomenal.

The highlight for me here is the inclusion of “One Way Ticket” and “Paper Dolls”; intended to be their next single, but they broke up.

Killer shit.
